2024 In Review
Recent recidivism studies show that approximately 39% of men and women that are released from Arizona prisons return to custody within 3 years of being released. In stark contrast, of the 803 men and women that engaged in the ReEntry by Design program in the comparative period, only 3 (0.37 percent) have returned to custody. We credit the success of the program with its ability to focus on the specific needs and challenges of the "individual" rather than treating every person the same.
ADCRR Releases | Percentage Recidivism After 3 Years | Remain Free After 3 Years |
---|---|---|
Statewide | 39 | 61 |
ReEntry by Design Program | 0.373 | 99.627 |
In 2024, alongside the 803 individuals enrolled in the full program, we provided support to an additional 2,185 men and women with specific needs. Our assistance included helping 1,665 individuals with housing, 1,096 with employment opportunities, 822 with transportation aid, 1,957 with hygiene and clothing provisions, and 2,185 with mentoring services.
At ReEntry by Design, we recognize the complexities that come with reintegrating into society after incarceration. We understand that each person encounters their own distinct challenges, and without proper preparation, there is a risk of returning to the past behaviors that led them to prison in the first place. By proactively tackling these issues before they arise in everyday life, we empower individuals with the tools to navigate their circumstances, while also offering the comfort of knowing that we are here to support them throughout their journey. After release, our assistance helps clients secure housing, employment, and access to essential services and resources, guiding them toward a more hopeful future.
